Synopsis:

The above URL is a YouTube video that presents a part of an interview made by the anchor Marco Werman from PRI Public Radio International with Tawakul Karman, the Yemeni journalist, who is one of three joint winners of the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize, she speaks about the ongoing violence in Syrian. The interview was published on Jun 7, 2012. Tawakul Karman led dozens of peaceful demonstrations in Yemen against the previous Yemeni president Ali Abdullah Saleh, and she is the person who came up with holding a weekly protest in front of the council of ministries. Later, the place has become known as “Freedom Square”.

Rationale:

I choose this video which shows an interview of Tawakul Karman, the Yemeni journalist, Karman is one of the strongest 100 Arab women and one of three joint winners of the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize. She is also considered one of the seven women who change the history for the year of 2009. Tawakul is a founder and an active member of many organizations and councils concerning the defense of freedom, democracy, and peace, and struggle against tyranny and corruption. Her activities are centered around values of human rights, fight against extremism and military coups, and the protection of children and women during wars and armed conflicts.
