Break the barrier of the one story narrative

In a world with nations and borders we can often get caught up in our own societal beliefs and customs without questioning it or attempting to learn any further than what our society taught us. This creates a one story narrative that only tells one story without looking for more. The one story narrative is allowing people to become ignorant. This ignorance can lead people to believe things that may not be true. It creates a barrier that divides people. In order for us to be able to break down the barrier our society created we must listen and learn different people’s stories and perspectives.

Rationale

One story narratives occur very often. People like to judge those who are different usually by the title that their society gives them. In order get rid of the one story narrative we need to be taught and learn many different sides. There is always more than one side to a story. I picked this topic because I believe it is very important that we as humans learn that the world is not black and white. The judgments and stereotypes we put on other people are learned and passed to others. When we share our stories with one another the ignorance that we once had soon disappears. After learning more stories, we can address the different feminist issues and understand that no nation and no woman has the same feminist issues.
